Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation in Velvety leaves my skin looking just that, absolutely velvety. Its organic ingredients melt into my skin leaving behind a dewy, healthy and skin-perfecting finish. My skin looks and feels like I don’t have any makeup on. Plus, I can’t get enough of Kjaer Weis’s luxurious packaging.
Pros: for all skin types, melts into skin, blends easily, light to heavy buildable coverage, doesn’t clog pores, semi-matte finish, doesn’t cause oil build-up, feels weightless, refillable compact, goes on smooth, make skin look flawless and youthful
Cons: Doesn’t offer any options for women of color with darker skin (the darkest option is a deep tan shade called Velvety).
Performance: Kjaer Weis Foundation is a creamy foundation that goes magically melts into skin. No cakey look or thick feel. It goes on smooth and and light while blending easily and flawlessly into skin with a semi-matte and poreless finish. It can be applied by hand with fingers or the Kjaer Weis Foundation Brush ($32).
Summary: Kjaer Weis Foundation is a 2013 Organic Beauty Talk Award Winner for Best Creme Foundation. It melts into skin without clogging pores and leaves behind a beautiful natural finish. Kjaer Weis Foundation is produced in Italy with luxurious, organic ingredients like Sweet Almond Seed Oil (a natural emollient used to moisturize and promote skin elasticity), Coconut Oil (a natural moisturizer for the skin), and Jojoba Seed Oil (rich in fatty acids, which promote skin elasticity and reduce signs of aging). It contains no artificial ingredients such as petroleum, parabens, artificial coloring or fragrance, and petrochemical emulsifiers, and isn’t tested on animals. Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation is available in five shades—Like Porcelain (their lightest foundation color for fair skin with pink undertones), Paper Thin (a cool, ivory color for fair to medium skin tones with pink undertones), Just Sheer (a natural, warm beige color for fair to medium fair skin with olive or golden undertones), Illusion (a warm, honey shade for medium to medium dark skin with golden or olive undertones), and Velvety (their darkest shade for medium dark to dark skin with golden or olive undertones).
Note: Don’t let the Coconut Oil scare you for those of you that may have tried RMS “Un” Cover-Up and felt it was too oily. Although it’s a wonderful product for many people, I too found RMS “Un” Cover-Up to cause oil build-up on my skin and cause me to look too greasy after a few hours of wear. The Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation doesn’t do any of that at all. The amount of oils in the formulation seem to give it it’s light-weight yet excellent coverage and smooth to the touch feeling. This is definitely unlike any other Cream Foundation I’ve experienced. It’s wonderful and brilliant in every which way. This compact will last me at least 6 months and considering the refill is $40 and the quality of ingredients and performance, it’s a great buy.
